The circus performance was the highlight of our circus theme. A variety of interesting acts including gymnasts, clowns and magicians entertained us all. All performers loved watching Miss Wilkie’s video of the circus. We have been very fortunate to have Miss Wilkie working with us this year and we all wish her all the best for next year.

Thankyou to everyone in Grade 2PM for making 2008 such a happy and enjoyable year. I wish you and your families a very happy holiday.

We were very excited to sing at the launch of the Wishing Tree in the K Mart plaza. It was lovely to see so many parents and friends there to watch us perform.

Sea creatures. What Am I?

I can form any shape. I have blue rings. I am brown and yellow. by Mitchell.

I like to hide under rocks. I come out to get little snails. by Meisha.

I have flippers. Sailors used to think I am a mermaid. I am white. by Emily H.

I swim around mostly in coral reefs. I am furry. I look like a caterpillar. by Sarah.

I am the largest of the toothed whales. I can go right down to the bottom of the ocean.I am not furry. I eat squid and fish. by Hudson.

“Wow! What is that?” I said. I saw a very weird sea creature. I named it Michtosoo. He eats bugs. One day he felt sick so I gave hime one million needles. The doctor said I hve to let him go so I did. He swam away. by Harley.

I was walking along the beach when suddenly I met a talking sea creature. I decided to call it Spooky the fish. He lives in the deep part of the ocean and I come and feed him every day.Spooky loves to eat squid and other large and small animals in the sea.He feels soft and slimy.Spooky’s colour is blue, black and grey.In the end Spooky had to go back to his family. by Hayley.

My sea creature breathes out over its nose. It eats fish. Its colour is purple, green and grey. by Thomas.

One day Dad said I could go to the beach. I saw a new sea monster. It was green with scales. It was 9 cm. long and he eats fish. by Mackay.

At Trash and Treasure we donated the money to Ronald McDonald House. Nikita.

It is called Trash and Treasure because it is trash for them and treasure for us. It was fun. I could have stayed there all day. I bought eleven things. Grade 2PM went and three other grades went too. Kate.

Recycling excursion

At Wastebusters there was a mega can magnet and it dropped cans into a big bin. Next we went to the Transfer Station. There was a crane lifting a shed where you drop rubbish into a big bin down the edge of the drop off. Next we went to the land fill. It was over 23 years old. Brock H

If the plastic bags go into the machine they get stuck. The truck picks up all the steel and takes it to the melting place where it is made into new metal. The cans get squashed into blocks and go to Melbourne. Brock W

At the wastebusters there were squashed cans in a cube shape. We looked at the rubbish that was getting sorted. Do not put plastic bags in your recycling bin because the machinery will get blocked up and won’t work. Then we went to the transfer station. There were men sorting out metal. We saw a shed of things you can buy. Then we went to the landfill. The big hole was nearly full. They will cover it with the dirt that is around it. When the tip is covered it could be farm land again but there are two other holes ready to be filled with rubbish. Sarah
